Also, these ready-to-fly rockets require no building or painting (unless you want to), so the fun starts all the sooner, too. Both of the rockets in this set are 356mm tall, but with differing fin combinations to ring the changes. These superbly efficient rockets can launch to a height of 1,200 feet using standard Estes C rocket motors and are then recovered using their 30.5cm brightly coloured parachutes, before being readied for another launch. A word to the wise: start with A or B motors to avoid long long long walks to recover while you are learning about winds aloft ;-) And if you are really set on an altitude record (and losing your rocket!) you can purchase Klima D9 motors as well ;-)
Launch System includes an Astron II Launch Controller (with battery) and an Astron II Launch Pad... which are good to go for the vast majority of rockets sold by the Model Rocket Shop. We toss in some wadding as well to get you going straight away.
The weakest link in any standard rocket kit is the recovery system. Estes standard components are built to a low price, not a high level of durability. To be sure you get your rocket back we recommend Starter Set Upgrade Kits, an economical version of our Recovery Upgrade Kits that addresses the standard recovery components' short comings and is a bit kinder on the environment, too. Our full-on Recovery Upgrade Kits provide the highest level of durability. They are principally for rocket builders that value the time and skill they put into their birds.
