<b>NEW</b> UKRoC 2020 <br />Bundle to Win

This bundle is exclusively for entrants of UKRoC 2020 e.g. schools, scouts and youth groups. If you are >not< going to go for the competition, please order these items a la carte.

This is more than a bundle of model rocket bits - it is the foundation for a winning entry!

Although the 2020 Motor List has not been published, with the inclusion of German teams in this year's mix, we are assuming that Klima motors will again be permitted. Questions remain about AeroTech reloadable and single use motors. No doubt to be resolved in the fullness of time...but it is time to start designing, building and testing!

Limited quantities of this bundle are available! This rugged, slim vehicle is capable of being powered by either a single 29mm composite (e.g. Cesaroni) motor or four 18mm Klima motors (various C and D impulses) to achieve close to 80Ns maximum allowed power to get your payload to the contest altitude. Need less power? We have a 3 x 18mm motor mount as an option.

This is NOT a model rocket kit. This bundle is merely a collection of components that can be used in numerous ways and with additional components to meet the rules of the 2020 UKRoC contest.

The bundle includes:

  • 2 x 50mm body tubes x 500mm long (one to be cut down for payload)
  • 2 x 50mm Nose Cones
  • 2 x 1.8m Kevlar harnesses
  • 1 x 35mm nylon parachute
  • 150mm x 150mm optional Nomex permanent wadding
  • 1 x 50mm Baffle
  • 1 x Estes PS II Fin Can including 29mm motor mount
  • 1 x 50mm motor mount for 4 x 18mm Klima motors
  • 2 x 50mm Couplers
  • 2 x 7mm Launch Lugs
  • 1 x 50mm Bulkhead

The thicker Klima 50mm body tubes are slimmer in diameter than the Estes BT-70 so there is a big aerodynamic advantage that more than negates the marginal increase in mass. The Klima body tubes also are better for the numerous test flights needed to prove a winning design.

You will need to modify one of the couplers for Klima power (for fin tang location). You will need to fabricate a centring ring to align the lower payload nose cone/payload fairing. You may find that the supplied parachute is too small/large to achieve the competition duration specification. Choice of PerfectFlight altimeter is yours as is any accommodation for the egg payload.
