Wizard is a great first high performance rocket!
No tricks magic here - just Newton's 3rd law ;-) The Wizard is an easy-to-build, high-performance kit that has die-cut balsa fins and self-adhesive decals. The Wizard returns to Earth on a brightly coloured streamer for soft, safe landings... not too far away from the launch site. It's a great first or second kit that promises real excitement and fun if fast and high are what you want from a rocket!
It is important to start out with A motors, go to Bs and then Cs. On a C6-7 a well built Wiz can hit 1600 feet (500 meters) altitude. You want to be sure that it's built right and the recovery team is primed before you get that high! On a B8-5, it will disappear off the pad in a puff of smoke - magic!
For school use, an A8-3 motor is more than adequate for a strong lift off without needing to chase the decending rockets into the next county... and A motors are kinder to the budget. Use C motors only if you have a lot of space and time if there is any wind!
means we have added Mylar streamer material and Nomex permanent wadding for closer recovery and less flying field litter from paper wadding
