Pemberton toasts another one!
Prevent rocket loss/damage by upgrading up your recovery system!
The National Association of Rocketry in the US studied "non-optimum" model rocket flights and found the vast majority were caused by a defective recovery system, e.g. parachute and harness.
After a couple of flights, the recovery components fitted to most rocket models are an accident waiting to happen. Elastic shock cord gets brittle. And if the knicker elastic shock cord breaks, your nose cone drifts off to the next county while the rest of your rocket "core samples"
The standard plastic chute, toasted by ejection gasses, may be ready to shed a few of its lines... or fail to open at all. Recovery by a half melted wad of bin liner plastic is not gentle.
You can prevent a crispy knicker elastic harness and replace a bin liner material chute with quality components that will make the recovery of your model from way way up in the sky less heart-stopping.
In the Recovery Upgrade Kit B include the correct size quality nylon parachute for the Estes starter kit line-up and most rockets of less than 1.25 inches in diameter, silicone harness sheath, and a swatch of Nomex permanent wadding. Colour illustrated instructions are provided online.
Bonuses with the Nomex wadding are 1) you never have to buy packs of fireproof bog roll or hemp wadding again for that rocket and 2) you don't have to chase charred bits of paper around the flying area.
With a recovery system upgrade on board, all you have to worry about are trees and ponds!
