We raised the price of the service because its use is more often that not associated to streams of email correspondence that eat our time but butter no parsnips!
The great thing about internet shopping is that it allows everyone to do part of the work (order entry) which helps keep prices down. Even better, errors are reduced! Who knows your address, phone number, email address or postcode better than YOU?
However, some folks just want to call up and have us do all the work. That's fine and we are happy to take the time to make sure you are buying the right rockets and accessories. However, time spent entering and checking details that are second nature to you take time away from serving our other customers. And if a mistake happens, it is our fault then isn't it?
During our busy seasons (which are getting busier) we feel that we have to charge for the extra time needed to enter your details and order. If your order is over £200 we will waive this fee.
While we sympathise with teachers and youth group leaders that have organisational policies that keep them from using the web order system, we also know that the paperwork involved in issuing formatted invoices and chasing small payments needs to be acknowledged.
If you feel that this is unjust, just try calling Amazon up sometime and asking them which book you should buy... or asking eBay for advice!
