An easy to build and great flying scale model - unlike some other scale models!
History in your hands ;-) This scale rocket is a replica of the first and second US sub orbital flight.
This model was supplied to the BBC for use in their Space Race mini series.
There's lots of scale detail in the plastic parts. Self adhesive decals make a good result EZ. The Mercury Redstone can soar up to 500 feet on a C motor. This up-rated version of the long gone Estes original 2167 that has laser cut balsa fins to improve stability
But wait! We now have Klima D9s that are gonna take you higher. This is a slightly porky model (all that plastic detail) so while it offers "realistic take offs" on a C motor (a bit lame but more realistic), you will surely want to fly it with a D9-5! We once saw an AeroTech D in a well built example and it flew like a proper rocket! No worries about stability as the Klima D9 composite motors weigh the same as ye olde Estes black powder C motors.
