Educational Rockets 1

Mini Mosquito <br />Fast and hard to swat 1

Return of a classic, the original Mosquito

Estes first introduced this kit in 1975 and it was last made in 1993. There was a subsequent reissue from 1994 to 2002. Such is the mania for vintage Estes kits that, had this little gem been made in the 70s, the price tag would be closer to £50 than a fiver.

Many rocket flyers remember their first Mosquito with such fondness that when the move on to grown up High Power Rockets, they upscale the Mosquito design. M impulse Mosquitos have flown! Get out the DDT!

It doesn't take a lot of skill to build this kit or paint it. What you get in return is stunning performance on inexpensive mini motors.

Estes' Mosquito (Skill Level 1) stands a mere 96mm tall, the Mosquito will travel to heights of 800 feet on an Estes mini rocket motor! A testimony to the effect of lower frontal area for drag reduction!

It might take an hour's building time, but then it's off to the flying field for inexpensive fun because mini motors come in packs of four!
