Dark Zero Quick Build

Add to Trolley

The Dark Zero took about 1 hour to build for three pupils who had never built a rocket before (it could be built a lot quicker). The build is really solid and I like the method for shock cord attachment (the small plastic holder makes it easy to replace when it starts to get worn).

It's a little heavy which makes it perfect for small school fields on a B4-4 or B6-4 motor (even in high winds). By tilting the pad into the wind and cutting a spill hole in the parachute we've been able to launch and recover in winds up to 20mph. The roar off the pad will put a smile on the faces of all the kids and many of the adults.

This will take a C6-5 or Klima D9-5/D9-7 but you may never see it again so reserve these for calm days as the drift will be considerable.

A great rocket to start with. Additions we made:
Kevlar cord and cotton elastic (three times the body length).
