Chock full of features and easy to build to boot, Proxima features a whooping 6-way cluster motor mount
Although Proxima's namesake is a red dwarf in the Centauri system, this rocket is not any kind of dwarf! This is a superior model rocket kit, much more rugged than Estes' offering!
The milled 6-way motor mount secures six motors with two stainless steel bolts and fits precisely into the plastic rear section. See below for some of the possible cluster combinations.
IMPORTANT: When launching a cluster model, we strongly recommend the use of Igniter Sticks and Tape Match ensure simultaneous motor ignition. In addition a 6mm launch rod should be used with Klima's Air Launcher for a stable base.
The fins are made of a stable, impact-resistant ABS and are simply inserted into the grooves of the tail section. Thus, these are precisely aligned and actually do not even need to be glued! If you break a fin with a hard landing, individual fins can be replaced.
In addition, the Proxima contains a sophisticated baffle system
for permanent parachute protection - wadding is so yesterday! A Recovery Upgrade Kit D provides a belt-and-braces additional measure of reliability.
Paint it if you wish but huge lettering and further stickers allow a attractive result with minimal effort.
