Who wants to fly an ersatz Soviet Interceptor Rocket? Remember the air is thin in Estes' Colorado home and recreational smoking is legal

Nonetheless, Cold War imagery aside, this is a stonking big bodied two stage model rocket kit. Cautionary note: camo paint schemes can work a bit too well when it comes to recovering your high flyer!!! International Distress Orange would be our choice ;-)

A long-time hobbyist’s dream build, sez Estes, this high flying booster model rocket kit is what model rocketry is all about. Based on Russian military armament, the Sasha is a >scale-like< model that would be a spectacular addition to any hobby rocket collection.

Durable and rugged this bad boy has two stages to lift the 6.1 ounce rocket. Powered by two Estes 24mm D engines, the Sasha can soar to 2300 feet high*.

* This altitude is predicated on using two 24mm Estes black powder E motors which are not currently available in this parish. Once we are finally out of the EU, who knows? 24mm composite motors (e.g. Aerotech or Cesaroni) do not work in 2-stagers. If you really want big air, consider a kit bash using a pair of Klima D9s in each stage. Bring binoculars!

An 18 inch parachute will safely return the main rocket down to earth as the booster tumbles gently down to the ground. Once grounded, this 31-inch tall rocket will command respect when on display in any hobbyist’s collection outside of, perhaps, western Ukraine.
