This rocket is absolutely Falcon Heavy-esque! Well, it's about the only kit going until SpaceX starts selling their flying model rocket kit of the Falcon Heavy :-) AND we are still waiting for the Falcon 9 models with or without the Dragon crew capsule...
Janus, named after one of Saturn moons (or the Roman god with two faces), is a rather different model. A cluster of three motors, but with two "outboard" motors assisting the main motor in the principle airframe.
This gives the model the appearance of a real rocket (Falcon Heavy or Delta Heavy) with lateral boosters.
This exciting and impressive model is very easy to build, but not necessarily suitable for beginners. You need some experience flying clusters using Tape Match and Igniter Sticks (sold here).
There are also a plurality of motor combinations possible;
very exciting it is when you fill the outside airframes with slow burner C2-Ps with a D9-7 in the center. But, flying on a budget, a D9-5 would work in a single motor configuration for a rather low flight.
In addition, the Janus includes a sophisticated baffle system for permanent parachute protection - wadding is so 20th Century! But for a belt-and-braces approach, Recovery Upgrade Kit D is advised.
Large lettering and Janus stickers for the booster and outboards emphasise the grandeur of this model, so Klima maintains.
And if you are a sucker for complicated model rockets :-) just ask how this can be converted into a two stage sequential clusters! Or if you just want more oomph, you can fit cluster motor mounts in one or more of the body tubes... However, if you are thinking about 3 x 4 motor mounts, be sure to check the CG/CP relationship to avoid a very unstable flight.
