The Special Designer Kit contains nose cones and body tubes for BT-5, BT-20, BT-50, BT-55, and BT-60 designs. This set is great for copying proven designs. If you want to get creative, we STRONGLY recommend that you get a copy of SpaceCAD because rocket science is science. Rockets that you think look right may NOT fly right. The brief guide included by Estes is just a start...
Rockets that don't fly right are NOT safe! A copy of the Model Rocket Handbook might not go amiss before you blast off with your own designs!
The Designer's Special Set includes some classic fin patterns but does not include complete rocket plans. You will need to use SpaceCAD to develop your own designs, make scale models of real rockets or find plans for out-of-production rocket kits on the internet.
Or copy the design of a favourite that is still hanging in a tree or crashed beyond repair. Even NASA doesn't get it right all the time ;-)
