With its classic elliptical shaped fins and graceful styling, Estes’ Astron Elliptic II rocket is the epitome of elegance! This 2-stage Skill Level 2 rocket is capable of launches up to 925 feet high using Estes mini rocket motors and is recovered by a combination tumble/streamer system.
Ideal for those with a few kits under their belt, the Elliptic assembles from quality Estes body tubes, precision laser cut wooden fins and waterslide decals to create a model that’s every bit as easy on the eye as it’s impressive on the launch pad!
Astron Elliptic II, the elegant space farer!
Gak! Retch! Welllll, that's what Estes sez. Ya gotta wonder where this stuff comes from? In truth, the Astron Elliptic is amazing: low frontal area and weight make high flight a bargain exercise since mini motors are way cheaper than the bigger sort.
However! That booster stage tumbles back so you had better have a recovery team member tasked with keeping an eye on that lil sucker otherwise your next Astron Elliptic flight will be upper stage only ;-)
Kit bashing note... check the BT size... hmmm... with a bit of jiggery pokery an 18mm A, B or C could be used instead. A recipe for a lost rocket???
There's no better introduction to model rocket performance and economy than kits using economical "mini" motors. Check them all out by clicking HERE!
Like everything except starter or launch sets, Astron Elliptic II requires a launch system; (launch controller and launch pad), rocket motors, igniters and recovery wadding to operate.
